The University Athletics Office (UAO) in partnership with the Varsity Parents’ Council (VPC) 2018-2019 of the Basic Education held a Solidarity Movie Night: “Spider-man Into the Spider-verse” last December 14, 2018, at Cinema 5, SM Ecoland, Davao City. A number of 317 student-athletes with their families and friends attended the said event.

The VPC Representative of the Grade School Basketball Boys Team, Jai Garcia shared her thoughts on her public Facebook post,  “A great bonding (experience) beyond the basketball court!”

Before the movie started, there were 8 lucky viewers who won Hawk Bags based on their raffle tickets drawn by Sports Officers Airnel Abarra (Grade School) and Simone Jaldon (Junior High School). The Adversary Video campaign was also featured and the young student-athletes were delighted to see some of their teams featured on the big screen.

The Athletics Director, Coach Noli Ayo, who is a great believer in the beauty of shared experiences, was also there to mingle with our young student-athletes. The Blue Knights Community really enjoyed the Marvel movie and was once again inspired by Stan Lee’s work with his concluding statement, “That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero.” The UAO is very glad to witness happy faces from our young student-athletes bonding with their families and friends when the event concluded. Moreover, the event’s success won’t be possible without the efforts of our student-athletes’ superheroes, the Varsity Parents’ Council.
